Who is the patient for a carer's leave request?
The patient and requester must be the adult seeking evidence for their own absence from work. InstantMed does not accept a minor as the patient.
Can InstantMed issue my child's school certificate?
No. InstantMed currently accepts patients aged 18 and over only. Contact the child's GP or another paediatric-capable service for assessment or school documentation.
What does carer's leave evidence cover?
It may support your absence from work while caring for an immediate family or household member. Your employer decides what evidence it requires under its policy and applicable workplace law.
How much does it cost?
A 1-day certificate is $24.95, 2-day is $29.95, and 3-day is $39.95. Full refund if the doctor declines.
Will the certificate disclose the other person's diagnosis?
Routine carer's leave evidence should not disclose unnecessary clinical details. The doctor decides what can be supported from the information available and what wording is appropriate.
What happens if the doctor declines the request?
Full refund if the doctor declines. The doctor may explain that different evidence or an in-person pathway is needed.
